Bassanio wins because his decision is not based upon the looks of the other caskets.                  Last, the suitors: the Prince of Moracco,the Prince of Arragon, and Bassanio learn the moral of the play. They learn that appearances do not count as much as the interior. Bassanio looks more into depth at the meaning of the caskets and that is why he wins.
